The objective of this international seminar is to exchange experiences and ideas on how to implement Controlled Traffic Farming in intensive vegetable production. The machinery industry is specially invited to enable a discussion on standards for machinery for future vegetable production.
Controlled Traffic Farming has been adapted by the vegetable industry especially in the Netherland but also by farmers in e.g. Denmark and Australia (Tasmania). Experiences from farmers and from trials have shown improved yields, better and more even crop quality and less environmental impact of the production. For most vegetable crops CTF can not be fully implemented mainly due to lack of compatible harvest machines.
