Danish agriculture faces a number of environmental challenges. There is an increasing focus on the emission of ammonia, odour, greenhouse gases and the discharge of excess nutrients. Continuous development and introduction of environmental technologies plays an important role in identifying sustainable solutions. AgroTech offers expert knowledge in technologies to reduce pollution caused by intensive livestock production systems.
Slurry separation
Slurry separation is an interesting environmental technology solution for agriculture because it enables an even distribution of animal manure on fields. This solution generates biomass as a by-product which can be used for biogas production or burnt in power plants. AgroTech offers consultancy on the development of environmental technologies. This involves providing assistance in the following areas: drawing up of performance specifications, prototype testing, assessment of markets, etc. We test and certify a wide range of slurry separators, separation technologies, etc. We also test slurry additives – both in the laboratory, on farms, in slurry storage facilities and when spreading slurry.
Air cleaning
The demands for a reduction in odour and ammonia emissions are growing. AgroTech is involved in several projects where we provide technology, knowledge and consultancy on biological air cleaning. Moreover, we offer technology development, tests and documentation to reduce emissions from livestock buildings, slurry storage facilities, manure and biomass processing plants and manure spreading. We focus particularly on emissions of ammonia, odour and greenhouse gases.
